Live Music in Kielce

A city of roughly 190,000 people in central Poland, Kielce carries musical weight well beyond its size. Liroy, born here, released "Alboom," the four-platinum record widely credited with kickstarting the Polish hip-hop scene, and the melody now serving as the Official Anthem of the Polish Army was heard publicly for the first time in Kielce. That historical depth finds a contemporary counterpart in the city's live infrastructure: the Świętokrzyska Philharmonic, opened in its current form in 2012, delivers classical and jazz programming with exceptional acoustics, while the Kadzielnia Amphitheater, carved from a former quarry and capable of holding nearly 5,500 people, stages large-scale concerts against a natural stone backdrop each spring through autumn. Jazz runs particularly deep, anchored by the Kielce Jazz Festival and the Memorial to Miles event organized by the Kielce Cultural Center.
