Northeastern Poland's Białystok carries a genuinely unusual musical range for a city its size, spanning a recognized local branch of Disco Polo in the 1990s through to its present standing as a respected hub for Early Music, a reputation built largely by the International Festival of Early Arts named after Izabela Branicka, running since 2011. The city's current live scene reflects that breadth: Klub Muzyczny Sześcian on Warszawska Street anchors the rock and roll end of things with regular concerts and a bi-weekly jam session, while Klub Muzyczny Rejs handles funk, soul, and hip hop, and Zmiana Klimatu runs an underground concert hall through the weekend.
