Live Music in Arnhem

In 2003, Arnhem's GelreDome made history as the stage for DJ Tiësto's groundbreaking solo stadium concert, drawing 25,000 people in what became a landmark moment in electronic music. That event speaks to a city comfortable hosting music at scale, but Arnhem's live scene runs considerably deeper than one night. Musis Sacrum, a concert hall with roots dating to 1847, anchors the city's cultural life with over 100 concerts annually spanning classical, jazz, and rock, while Luxor Live brings contemporary and international acts into a repurposed historic building. For rawer sounds, Willemeen serves as the home ground for rock, punk, and metal. The city has also produced a genuinely varied roster of artists, from folk metal band Heidevolk to house producer Franky Rizardo and pop singer Esmée Denters, reflecting a scene that resists easy categorisation.
