Sala Apolo
Sala Apolo is a live music venue and nightclub in Barcelona, Spain, housed in a building that originated as an amusement park in the early 20th century and later operated as a cinema, dance hall, and bingo hall before reopening as Sala Apolo in 1983. The venue solidified its modern concert hall and nightclub format in 1991. Its architecture is Art Deco, designed by Lluís Sagnier, with mirrors, woodwork, stucco ceilings, and murals. Sala Apolo programs rock, pop, indie, house, techno, disco, reggae, dub, dancehall, drum'n'bass, funk, reggaeton, trap, hip-hop, electronic music, urban sounds, afrobeat, synth-pop, and indie-dance, as well as classical piano sessions. It also hosts club nights, festivals, cultural events, radio and TV programs, premieres, dance evenings, and acoustic sessions. The venue operates multiple spaces: the main hall, La (2) de Apolo, La (3) de Apolo, and CINC (La 5). It was awarded the Premio ARC in 2013.
