La Seine Musicale - Boulogne Billancourt
La Seine Musicale is a music and performing arts center located on Île Seguin in Boulogne-Billancourt, a suburb of Paris, France. It was designed by architects Shigeru Ban and Jean de Gastines and opened in April 2017. The venue features a distinctive egg-shaped auditorium covered with 1,000 square meters of solar panels that follow the sun's path, generating energy for the building. It hosts a wide range of musical genres from classical to contemporary, including jazz and world music, and also accommodates dance performances, musicals, and exhibitions. The main performance space, known as the Grande Seine, has a capacity of up to 6,000 spectators, while the Auditorium offers 1,150 seats for more intimate classical concerts. Recognized for its innovative architecture and acoustics, La Seine Musicale has established itself as a major cultural landmark in the Paris region, aiming to make culture accessible to diverse audiences.
