La Cigale
La Cigale, established in 1887, is a historic music venue located at 120 Boulevard Rochechouart in Paris's Pigalle district. Originally a café-concert, it has hosted vaudeville, music-hall, and operettas. Following a renovation in 1987, it reopened as a contemporary concert hall, attracting a wide array of musical acts. The venue's interior is Italianate, featuring a two-level auditorium, ornate balconies, and a gold-leaf ceiling, and it was classified as a historic monument in 1981. Its design prioritizes audience and performer proximity, creating an energetic atmosphere. La Cigale is known for presenting rock, electronic, pop, French chanson, indie bands, rap, hip-hop, and jazz, as well as hosting festivals and private events.
