Fasching
Fasching, located at Kungsgatan 63 in Stockholm, is Scandinavia's largest organizer of jazz and one of Europe's oldest and most prestigious jazz clubs. Founded in 1977 by the Association of Swedish Jazz Musicians (FSJ), the venue is uniquely owned by jazz musicians and its audience. Its programming extends beyond jazz to include world music, funk, soul, hip-hop, blues, Afrobeat, and indiepop, hosting concerts, club nights, and jam sessions. Fasching is a main stage for the annual Stockholm Jazz Festival and features "Club Soul," Stockholm's longest-running dancefloor for soul, disco, and funk. The intimate setting, described as having a "New York jazz club" feel with brick walls and warm lighting, offers highly regarded acoustics tuned for optimal listening, a low stage for performer-audience connection, and a high-quality sound system. The venue has a history of hosting live recordings for albums, radio, and television.
