Accor Arena
The Accor Arena, a pyramid-like landmark in Paris’s 12th arrondissement, opened on February 3, 1984, as the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy. Designed by architects Michel Andrault, Pierre Parat, Jean Prouvé, and Aydin Guvan, its distinctive sloping walls and later-installed glass roof make it one of Europe’s largest arenas. A €140 million refurbishment from 2014 to 2015 modernized its facilities and acoustics. The venue hosts major concerts across genres including hip-hop, rock, and metal, as well as sporting events such as tennis, basketball, judo, and ice hockey. Its capacity varies by configuration, reaching up to 20,300 for concerts. Located at 8 Boulevard de Bercy, it serves as a key cultural hub in the French capital.
