3Arena
The 3Arena is the largest indoor arena in Ireland, a state-of-the-art live music and entertainment venue on North Wall Quay in the Dublin Docklands. Opened on December 16, 2008, as The O2, it was built on the site of the former Point Theatre, which itself was a redevelopment of a historic train depot. The venue was rebranded as the 3Arena on September 4, 2014, after Three Ireland acquired O2 Ireland. Its design is distinctive for a gigantic fan-shaped seating arrangement, likened to the Colosseum of Rome, ensuring the furthest seat is only 60 meters from the stage. The venue features world-class acoustics and a flexible layout, accommodating up to 13,000 people standing or between 9,000 and 9,500 seated. It hosts major acts across rock, pop, country, classical, and electronic music, as well as sporting events like boxing, UFC, and WWE. Since 2014, it has been the home of the annual C2C: Country to Country festival. The site holds cultural significance as the birthplace of Riverdance, which debuted during the 1995 Eurovision Song Contest at the former Point Theatre.
