Zachary Israel Braff (born April 6, 1975) is an American television and film actor, director, screenwriter, and producer. During the early 2000s, he became known for his role as J.D. on the NBC sitcom Scrubs. Braff has also starred in several films as well as wrote and directed 2004's Garden State. Braff was born in South Orange, New Jersey to a Jewish family on April 6th 1975. His parents, Hal Braff, a well known trial attorney, and Anne Brodzinsky, a clinical psychologist, divorced and re-married others during Braff's childhood.
