The Radiants

The Radiants were an American doo-wop and R&B group popular during the 1960s. The group formed in Chicago, Illinois, in 1960, where the original members met while singing in the youth choir of Greater Harvest Baptist Church. They performed both gospel and secular material, with the latter largely written by group leader Maurice McAlister. While attempting to secure a recording contract, they found that record labels were increasingly uninterested in gospel groups, leading them to focus on secular music.
