There are two bands called The Passenger; (1) The Passenger are a hardcore band from Brisbane, Australia. http://www.thepassengerhc.tumblr.com (2) 1999 was the year Andrew and James first put the band together under the name 2000 A.D. along with original bass player Nathan Eaton and drummer Alan Proud.
