Stranger Cole (aka StrangeJah Cole) (born Wilburn Theodore Cole in Kingston, Jamaica, on 26 June 1942; died 11 June 2026) was a Jamaican singer remembered for his long recording career from the early days of ska in 1962 through to his death in 2026. His is credited with creating the first reggae song with his hit, "Bangarang". Cole received the nickname “Stranger” because he resembled no one else in his family.
