Sam Wade was born in Parsippany, NJ and started studying violin at 2 1/2 in the Suzuki program at Montclair State University. Several years later he started taking lessons with NY Philharmonic violinist Oscar Ravina, and he appeared in the Wes Craven film 'Music of the Heart' with Meryl Streep. Sam taught himself guitar in middle school after several years of piano lessons and went on to study guitar for a year in high school with Vic Juris whose song Horizon Drive was famously sampled for Gang Starr's hit 'Mass Appeal.
