Paul Anthony Sorvino (born April 13, 1939) is an American actor. He is the father of actress Mira Sorvino. He is known for portraying authority figures on both sides of the law, and he is possibly best known for his roles as Paulie Cicero in the film Goodfellas and Sgt. Phil Cerreta on the TV series Law & Order. Sorvino was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York City, the son of Italian American parents Marietta, a homemaker and piano teacher, and Ford Sorvino, a robe factory foreman.
