Judith Allen Roderick was born in 1942. She released her first album, Ain't Nothin' But the Blues in 1964. Her best selling album, Woman Blue was recorded in 1965 with accompaniment by two guitarists, Dick Weissman and Artie Traum. The title track, "Woman Blue," is a version of an Alan Lomax-collected folk song that was also the basis of the song "I Know You Rider" as popularized by Grateful Dead and others. In 1966, Woman Blue was released in the United Kingdom and a promotional trip was arranged.
