Janie Black

Janie was the younger sister of Jeanne Black who scored a major hit with "He'll Have to Go" in 1960. The sisters had been signed jointly to Capitol Records in 1959 and performed together on the B-side of "He'll Have to Stay" as Jeanne & Janie. When the much younger Janie (born in Pomona, California in 1943), began cutting solo sides for Capitol in her own right, confusion set in as the girls' names were difficult to tell apart.
