Don Schlitz (born Donald Alan Schlitz, Jr. in Durham, NC, on 29 August 1952; died 16 April 2026) was an American country music songwriter and singer remembered for earning two Grammy Awards, as well as four ASCAP Country Songwriter of the Year awards. Inducted into four different halls of fame, namely the national Songwriters Hall of Fame, the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, the Country Music Hall of Fame, and the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame, on 30 August 2022 he was inducted as a member of the Grand Ole Opry.
