Daniel Croner (1656-1740) was a native of Kronstadt (now Brasov, Romania). He was a theologian and composer of music for organ. Croner completed four books of organ tabulatures (one in Bratislava, three in Wittenberg). The tabulature contained the works by various composers, alongside his own works. He began to copy Brasov manuscript on 30 January 1681, while he lived in Bratislava; he completed it nearly four years. Croner's aim seems to have been to copy what would be useful for his own keyboard playing
