Crawford Gates

Composer, conductor and educator. He was educated at the College of the Pacific, Columbia University, San Jose State College (BA), Brigham Young University (MA), and the University of Rochester (Ph.D.). He also studied with Ernst Toch, Howard Hanson, Bernard Rogers, and LeRoy Robertson. He conducted the orchestra and choral groups at the University of Utah, Brigham Young University, and various school and civic concerts and festivals including Tanglewood in 1957.
