Few cities have produced as much internationally recognized rock talent as Las Vegas: The Killers, Imagine Dragons, and Panic! At The Disco all formed here, and all three went on to reshape mainstream alternative music. That local rock lineage feeds into a broader genre called Vegas Indie, a blend of indie rock, alternative rock, and electronic music shaped by the city's nightlife, its upbeat energy translated directly into synthesizer-driven, danceable sounds. The live infrastructure matches that ambition, running from the 4,298-capacity Colosseum at Caesars Palace, which built its reputation on long-term residencies, to the deliberately rough Double Down Saloon, the acknowledged heart of the city's punk scene since 1992. In between sit venues like Dolby Live at Park MGM and the House of Blues at Mandalay Bay, giving Las Vegas a range that few cities its size can credibly claim.
