Folk music has been performed in Kazimierz Dolny's main square for over half a century, anchored by the annual Festival of Folk Bands and Singers, whose performances are recorded for Polish radio and draw traditional ensembles from across the country. That folk tradition sits alongside a deeper historical layer: the Chasids of Kazimierz, followers of Ezechiel Taub, placed music and singing at the center of religious life, a legacy the town carries into the present through the Pardes Festival and the IMAGINE Culture Without Borders Festival, which in 2025 staged the world premiere of William Goldstein's opera set in the town itself. Classical organ music adds another dimension, with the Parish Church of St. John the Baptist hosting Saturday evening concerts and the Kazimierz Organ Festival, both centered on an instrument dating to 1620. The Kamieniołom quarry rounds out the live calendar as the main site for Kazimiernikejszyn, a multi-genre July festival spanning indie rock, electronic, and folk.
