La Belle Angele
La Belle Angele is a live music venue and nightclub at 11 Hasties Close in Edinburgh's Old Town, rebuilt on its original site after the 2002 Cowgate fire destroyed the original 1992 establishment. It reopened in 2014 after a 12-year hiatus, rising from the ashes with modern production and cutting-edge sound. The venue hosts gigs and club nights most evenings, programming rock, electronic, punk, soul, house, disco, hip-hop, jazz, techno-house, and indie, along with performance art, exhibitions, and corporate events. During the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, its programme expands to include comedy and label takeovers. Known for an intimate dance floor and a great sound system, it is a big alternative space run by music lovers for music lovers, committed to showcasing both emerging and established artists.
