Its live infrastructure reflects that range: the AFAS Dome and Lotto Arena pull major international acts, while Trix operates as the city's dedicated music center for emerging artists, and De Muze has been running live jazz sessions since 1964. The underground electronic scene clusters around venues like Ampere, Club Vaag, and IKON, with drum and bass holding particular weight in the city's club culture. For early music, AMUZ occupies a converted church and focuses on historically informed performance, a tradition rooted in Antwerp's Renaissance-era centrality to the Franco-Flemish School. Few cities of its size carry that kind of musical depth across centuries and genres simultaneously.
