Giovanni Lorenzo Somis

Giovanni Lorenzo Somis (Turin , 11 November 1688 - Turin , 29 November 1775) was an Italian violinist, composer and painter of the late Baroque. Known as L'Ardy or Ardito, like his father and brother Giovanni Battista . The nickname, which sometimes serves as a surname, is probably linked to some military company or war enterprise, at the time of the struggles against France between 1690 and 1693 . He began studying the violin with his father, and then moved to Bologna for 8 years
