Usher Hall
Opened in 1914 and funded by whisky distiller Andrew Usher, the Usher Hall is Edinburgh's foremost concert hall and the home venue of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. Its curved Beaux-Arts design, built using reinforced concrete, was engineered to protect acoustics widely considered among the finest in Europe. The venue programs classical, rock, pop, folk, jazz, blues, and comedy, and has served as the main Edinburgh International Festival venue since 1947.
