Symphony Hall

Symphony Hall opened in April 1991 as the permanent home of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and has since built a global reputation for its acoustics, rated the finest in the UK and seventh best worldwide by acoustics expert Leo Beranek in 2016. The 2,262-seat venue programmes classical concerts alongside jazz, world music, folk, rock, and pop, and houses the largest mechanical action organ in the UK, a 6,000-pipe instrument installed in 2001.
