The Jam House opened in 1999 in a Georgian building overlooking St. Paul's Square in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter, founded through a collaboration between musician Jools Holland and designer Neil Tibbatt. The venue operates across three floors with an open-plan layout designed to keep audiences close to the stage. Its programming spans jazz, blues, soul, R&B, gospel, and reggae, alongside Latin nights, acoustic sessions, and private functions.
