The Garage
The Garage is an iconic live music and club venue in Highbury, North London, that opened in 1993. Originally built as the Temperance Billiard Hall in the 1960s, the building later operated as the London Town & Country Club 2 before becoming The Garage. The venue underwent a complete revamp in March 2017 after being taken over by DHP Family in 2016. The main room has a confirmed capacity of 600, and an intimate upstairs venue called The Grace, established during the 2017 revamp, holds 100. The Garage is known for its diverse programming, typically featuring indie, rock, alternative, punk, ska, reggae, hip hop, pop, and electronic music. It regularly hosts live music most nights, along with club nights, album launch parties, and private events. Culturally, it serves as a launchpad for emerging talent and a setting for established artists seeking an intimate performance. The venue features a brick-wall interior, a well-maintained stage, excellent acoustics, and a sound system tuned for clarity and volume. Its multi-level layout ensures strong sightlines from most positions in the room.
