The Bodega
Housed in an Edwardian building constructed in 1902 on the site of a former pub called the Durham Ox, The Bodega in Nottingham is a live music venue with a capacity that varies between 220 and 250. The building has undergone several name changes over the years, including Cairo's, Rosie O'Briens, and The Pump House, before opening as The Social in 1999. DHP Family took ownership in 2004, and the venue was renamed back to The Bodega in 2007. The venue features an intimate upstairs gig room and a ground-floor bar, along with a popular fairy-lit beer garden that hosts acoustic sessions and art events in summer. It programs a diverse range of genres including indie, rock, country, pop, jazz, alt-rock, electronic, and singer-songwriter acts, as well as club nights such as The Pop Confessional. The Bodega has a reputation for hosting emerging talent and won the Best Medium Bar award at the Best Bar None awards in 2011.
