New Cross Inn
The New Cross Inn is a live music venue in London, housed in a late Victorian building at 323 New Cross Road that has operated as a pub since at least the late 1700s. After a stint as Bar Alchemy in the 2000s, it reverted to its original name and became an alternative music venue in the late 2000s. The main room holds 350, with a second bar, Stocks Bar, allowing adaptable capacity for up to 500 across both floors. It programs live shows seven nights a week, covering punk, indie rock, metal, and ska, alongside a weekly open mic night. The venue draws a diverse audience, including students from nearby Goldsmiths, University of London, and is considered a staple of underground alternative scenes. Stocks Bar, opened in 2016, offers a wide selection of craft beers, spirits, and whiskies. The surrounding New Cross district is noted for its academic influence, musical innovation, and industrial heritage.
