Jazz Cafe
The Jazz Cafe is a 450-capacity live music venue in Camden Town, London, occupying the former premises of a Barclays Bank since relocating there in 1990. Founded in the 1980s in Newington Green, it moved to its current address at 5 Parkway and has since become a fixture of the city's music scene. The venue underwent a significant renovation in 2016 under new ownership by The Columbo Group, which introduced technical upgrades, a new aesthetic, and an updated food and drink menu. Its programming spans jazz, hip hop, electronica, soul, funk, reggae, blues, world music, Latin, and R&B, and it hosts club nights every Friday and Saturday. The Jazz Cafe also curates its own annual day festival in Burgess Park. Architecturally, the venue has an urban feel with subtle art deco influences, and its bars are made from concrete slabs repurposed from the road outside. Known for its intimate atmosphere, it allows audiences to feel close to the stage even during performances by artists who typically play larger venues.
