Electric Ballroom
The Electric Ballroom, a two-storey live music venue on Camden High Street in London, has operated since 1938, when it opened as The Buffalo Club. Relaunched under its current name in 1978, the venue features two dance floors, four bars, and a ground-floor stage with full concert facilities. It primarily programs rock and indie shows but also hosts punk, metal, reggae, electronic, hip hop, R&B, pop, and dance events, alongside regular club nights such as Sin City and Shake. The venue’s neon-lit façade is a distinctive landmark in Camden Town. Its cultural significance was underscored when redevelopment proposals that would have led to its demolition were rejected following public and musician support. The Ballroom has been owned by the Fuller family since its founding, with Kate Fuller now operating the venue after her father Bill’s passing in 2008.
