Brighton Concorde 2
Brighton Concorde 2 is a Grade II listed Victorian venue on Madeira Drive, originally built in 1880 as part of the Madeira Shelter Hall complex. It operated as a tearoom, bikers’ café, and amusement arcade before transforming into a music venue in the early 1990s, officially opening in its current form around New Year’s Eve 1999 or 2000. The venue has a confirmed capacity of 600 and is known for its intimate atmosphere, distinctive stained-glass windows, original wood flooring, and a disused Victorian Madeira Terrace lift inside the building. Its beachfront location and state-of-the-art L-Acoustics sound system are defining features. Concorde 2 programs a wide range of genres including indie, electronic, reggae, rock, punk, hip-hop, metal, acid jazz, dub, pop punk, emo, dance, ska, country, R&B, pop, folk, psychedelia, and tribute acts, hosting live concerts, club nights, and private events. It has won awards from Music Week and Live Music Business and is widely regarded as Brighton’s premier live music venue and nightclub.
