The Blackpool Winter Gardens is a historic entertainment complex that first opened on July 11, 1878, making it one of the most significant 19th-century entertainment venues in Britain. Covering 6 acres on Church Street, the Grade II* listed building is operated by Blackpool Entertainment Company Limited on behalf of Blackpool Council, which acquired it in 2010. The complex contains multiple distinct spaces including the Opera House, one of the largest theatres in the UK and Europe, and the Empress Ballroom, a world-famous historic ballroom built in 1896. The venue attracts over 1.3 million visitors annually across more than 500 events, ranging from theatre and live music to conferences and exhibitions.
