Hot Jazz Club
The Hot Jazz Club occupies the basement of a former harbor warehouse on Münster’s Kreativkai, a setting that gives it an old industrial charm and a large sun terrace overlooking the Dortmund-Ems Canal. Opened in May 2000 by Hucky Herzig and Marcial Dos Santos, the club was taken over by operator Christian Huys in 2005, the same year it began broadening its musical scope well beyond its original jazz and blues focus. Today the programming spans funk, soul, rock, pop, reggae, ska, hip hop, electronic, Americana, big-band, boogie, chanson, comedy, country, Dixieland, folk, fusion, Latin, and world music, alongside regular jam sessions, improvisation theater, and weekend parties. A small stage keeps audiences close to performers, and the venue supports emerging acts through its Newcomer Stage. Sunday afternoons offer free-admission After Church Club concerts. The club also contributes to the annual Hafenfest program. Its cozy, basement atmosphere and waterfront location make it a fixture of Münster nightlife.
