The Tivoli
The Tivoli, originally built as Adams Bakery in 1917, was transformed into a restaurant and theatre in 1989 by entrepreneur Ann Garms, inspired by Paris’s Paradis Latin. Acquired by brothers Steve and Dave Sleswick in 2016, it remains Brisbane’s longest-running live music venue. The indoor theatre retains Art Deco features, industrial brick exterior, timber roof framing, and a mezzanine balcony, known for warm acoustics and consistent production. It hosts live music spanning rock, pop, hip hop, and EDM, plus circus, burlesque, cabaret, theatre, comedy, and musicals. The venue also includes a smaller space called What’s Golden for intimate performances.
