Founded in 1996 and housed in the sandstone basement of a century-old building on Sussex Street, Chinese Laundry is one of Sydney's longest-running dance clubs and has appeared in DJ Mag's Top 100 Clubs poll. The venue programs techno, house, drum and bass, UKG, and disco, with a focus on underground and discovery-led bookings. It reopened in mid-2024 following a four-year closure and runs a phone-free dancefloor policy.
