Toby-1 was formed in November 2000 from the remnants of Adelaide cult band Masongreystrange. Initially a studio project for Duann Scott to explore compositions based around the digital processing of analog, acoustic and found sounds, with the addition of the classically trained voice, flute and clarinet of Ruth Wilson, that has led to its current incarnation as a two-piece.
