The Undercasts started life in late 2023 as the songwriting project of Ellis Evans (Vocals, Keyboards, Accordion, Banjo and Melodica) and was later joined by Liam Northfield on the Drums and Antony Eades on the Guitar in 2024. Their debut single "Closer to You" was released in 2024, followed up by the single "When Will It Be My Turn to Be Happy?" in October 2025. Described as "up-and-coming mardycore" and compared to They Might Be Giants and The Magnetic Fields, the Undercasts are working on more songs in the upcoming year.
