The Postulates is an indie rock band from Newton, Iowa. The band is composed of lead vocalist Alex Gearhart, lead guitarist Austin Dunn, rhythm guitarist Chris Tomlin, percussionist Nate Hill, bassist/vocalist/guitarist J.L. Leckband, and keyboardist Joe Peterson. Austin and Chris had been playing together since middle school when first talk of a band surfaced. In 2006, Alex joined Austin and Chris; and in 2007 Nate and J.L. entered the scene, and thus an early "Postulates" was born.
