The McFlys, originally a two-member studio project, have recently resurfaced as a four-piece pop-punk act from the Port Huron, Michigan area. Original members Dale VanThomme and Tommy Herrmann, of the now defunct The Running Gags (1996 - 1999), decided to change the bands course and combine their songwriting abilities in efforts to find their common musical ground. Resulting from this collaboration was The McFlys, a name borrowed from the hit movie series, Back to the Future.
