Rudolf Di Lasso was a German organist and composer, son of Orlando di Lasso and brother of Ferdinand de Lassus; b. Munich, c. 1563; d. there, 1625. He was made a member of the Bavarian court chapel (1585), and was its first organist (1589–1625); was also court composer to the Duke (from 1609). With his brother, he compiled and publ. the Magnum opus musicum (1604), a comprehensive survey of his father’s motets. In some of his settings of the Magnificat, he parodied pieces by his father.
