René Klijn

2,518 listeners · Last.fm

René Klijn was a Dutch singer and model. He starred in a Dutch television program to talk about his AIDS disease. At the end of the program he sang 'Mr. Blue', a song originally by Yazoo. A few days after the broadcast the single 'Mr. Blue' became a #1 hit in the Netherlands, and René Klijn donated all the money he made with it to the Dutch AIDS foundation. René Klijn died only a few weeks later (at the age of 30) because of AIDS.
