Fado ... the pain of happiness and the joy of sadness“ Quatro Ventos was established by Emanuel Pessanha in 1996 and since that time created a new audience for strong and successful fado music with the on-stage accompaniment of three enthusiastic and skilled musicians, Wout Pennings playing classical lead guitar and Portuguese guitar; violinist Aili Deiwiks and double bass players Lucien Matheeuwsen/Norbert Leurs,. Quatro Ventos created their debut album, Flor do Mar in 1996.
