Marcantonio Del Pifaro

Marcantonio Del Pifaro (fl. 16th century) was an Italian Renaissance musician and composer, active in Bologna in the 16th century. Very little is known about his life other than the fact that he was active in Bologna and the publication of his first compositions, consisting of tablatures for lute and frottolistic music , dates back to 1546. This is a collection of jumpers and chiarenzane, one of the latter, the ninth of the collection, was composed using two themes taken from La bataille by Clément Janequin.
