Mammary

Mammary, begun in 2009, is the solo project of brunette balladeer Mallory Watje, whose irresistible siren songs have cause the shipwrecks of many wayward sailors on the rocky crags and cliffs of Isla Vista, CA. Tape hiss and rhetorical questions punctuate her self-released debut LP (with the literal title “November 2009”); Watje sends melody lines in divergent directions, complimenting her plucking (guitar, once banjo) or pounding (piano: heavy sustain) with resonant vocal harmonies.
