The Album The Heyday of Tony Stone Lance Phillips first came on the scene in 1988 when he produced and engineered the last Chairs record, Crestfallen / Sometimes it Takes a Hammer. Lance was working at the time at AIR Studios in Oxford Circus, owned by George Martin, famed producer of The Beatles. After The Chairs broke up, Paul Sullivan continued to record intermittently with Lance at AIR, usually late at night when Dire Straits or A-Ha had gone home.
