There are at least nine bands and one DJ with this name. One is an emo violence band from Annandale, Virginia formed in 2008. Associated bands include The Pessimist Hangs The Optimist and The Usual www.kilgoretroutva.bandcamp.com. One of the guitarists left Kilgore Trout, who now play on as a three-piece under the name Ostraca. Another is an alternative rock band that was based in Nottingham and Sheffield in the north of England between 1985 and 1991.
