There are three bands called Katabasis: 1. An atmospheric metal band from Australia 2. A death metal band from Virginia. 3. A metalcore band from Birmingham, Alabama. 1. Katabasis combines elements of many disparate forms of metal and music in general, as the band seeks to establish an emotional grounding rather than a sonic one. They released their debut, self-titled album in 2011. 2.Katabasis (Pronounced Kuh Ta Buh Sis) is a Death Metal band from Fairfax, Virginia. They are currently working on their first yet-to-be-titled EP.
